This year's exciting Australia-wide Plast Camp for Юнацтво "Гей, гай, хвилю тримай" will see participants setting sail on an odyssey of maritime discovery as they navigate the mysteries of the Shipwreck Coast in South Western Victoria from 26 December 2013 to 4 January 2014.

From traversing limestone caves, petrified forests, rugged cliffs and sandy bays to canoeing the pristine Glenelg River and surfing the mighty Southern Ocean, this мандрівний табір will be an unforgettable experience for all юнаки and юначки with a spirit of adventure!

In the tradition of past мандрівні табори, this табір will be exclusively for юнацтво (12-17 years old) and their виховники.

The юнацька мандрівка will be based in Portland, Victoria, with bus transport organised for participants from the Plast Domivka in Sydney and the Ukrainian House in Melbourne. More information will be available closer to табір on www.plast.org.au.

All activities and hikes will be streamed according to participant's experience and age meaning the табір is open to all юнаки and юначки, with or without hike experience.

Назва табору: Крайовий апробаційний табір «Побурлакуємо світами» (скельний-мандрівний-водний) 2013р.

Де і коли відбувся табір: В Івано-Франківській та Закарпатській областях, від 10-ого до 21-ого серпня 2013р. Цей табір був розділеній на три етапи, і кожен з них відбувся на інакшому терені. Я брав участь від 10-ого до 18-ого серпня.
Ми збиралися в місті Стрий перед першим етапом, і їхали та мандрували до площі біля Скелі Довбуша (Бубниські скелі). Звали скелі за опришком Олекси Довбуша, хто мав базу там (трохи як «Donnelly's Castle» в Квінсленді).
Від 14-ого до 17-ого мандрували через Ґорґани, система малозаселених гір в Карпатах. (Ґорґани дістали назву від слова на осипище – не сестри Медузи з грецької міфології. Було дуже цікаво гойдати на розлуплені каміння. Ночували біля міста Галич 17-ого, і наступного дня почали водну мандрівку на р. Дністрі.

Хто були учасники табору? Юнацтво з України: чотири юнаки — та 17 юначок. Хлопці були місцеві, а юначки репрезентували різних станиць із цілої України. Дев'ятеро старших пластунів та пластунок були членами проводу на весь табір, і декілька пластунів та членів Пласт-прияту були інструкторами чи гостями на одну чи дві етапи.
Долучився до нас другий Бурлацький табір на скельні та водні етапи скельно-вело-водний табір, також з назвою «Побурлакуємо світами»...). На першому та останньому етапах, фактично були два підтабори.

Яка була програма? Кожен етап мав свою цікаву програму.
Ми йшли на тур через скали. (Скарби Олекси Довбуша не знайшли). Після різної готовки вернулися до скелі, зложили маршрутів і почали лазити. Крім скелолазання, були різні гутірки та бурлаки почали вчити свої пісні і кличи учасникам.
Тоді половину дня їхали, і гарно ходили по Ґорґанських горах. Від другого етапу юнацтво брало участь у зайняттях по колибах (viz, таборові гуртки; всі ночували в наметах). Коли дикі коні не гризали наші намети, не пережили спрагу на посушені гори, і учасники додали менше ніж сім різних лісових ягід чи фруктів до чаю чи каші: час поза мандруванням був спокійним. Кожна колиба самостійно працювала: назбирала дров, варила їжу, мала ранішню руханку...
Після мандрівного етапу, ми відвідали «Сокіл» (оригінальний, не площа y Вікторії!) і відвідали центр міста Галич. Біля Галицьким мостом, стелили намети і приготовилися на водний подорож. Я не брав участь у водному етапі, і18-ого серпня 2013 року Божого розлучився з таборовниками на березі Дністра.

Яку роль мали на таборі? Офіційно, я був таборовий інструктор. На таборах в Україні, відрізняють «інструктори на теми» — вони водять гутірки та інші зайняття — від виховників. (Всі наші виховники були учасники, а не члени проводу.) Я помагав з скельною програмою, і мене долучили до найкращої мандрівної колиби. Не дуже відрізнялося від булавної праці в Австралії, але мені було трохи легше бо я був «турист».
Кому варто їхати? Ті, що люблять Карпати, мандрівки по горах чи скелолазання. Пластуни з діаспори, які мають охоту таборувати при природі/краси рідної України. Ті, що люблять співати нонстоп на автобусі. Юнаки з зацікавленням спілкуватися, довго філософувати, та підтримати контакт з подругами-ровесниками в Україні.

Plast kurin "Chervoni Maky" held a fundraiser kitchen at Ss Peter and Paul Cathedral, North Melbourne, on Sunday 4th August 2013. Chervoni Maky helping on the day were: Olia Dudinski, Diana Baranowski, Iryna Baran, Lucia Wyszniowskyj, Halya Hawryluk, Oksana Mulartschuk-Donaghey, Valya Radion, Zirka Yaskewych, Tosi Stebnyckyj, Slavka Matiszak and Maria Kwas.

The money collected will be used to purchase equipment such as wheelchairs for "Dzherelo" in Lviv.

"Dzherelo" is an educational-rehabilitation day centre for children with special needs eg cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, etc. It is the only centre catering for these needs in the Lviv region and is mainly reliant on donations from the Ukrainian diaspora for its running costs and building program. At the moment "Dzherelo" has facilities for approximately 200 children, however, in Lviv and the surrounding region there are some 2,000 children who are in need of such care.

It was an adventure of a lifetime! An experience so inspiring and exciting, one i'll surely never forget. After two enduring weeks spent at the Virsky Summer Dance Workshop in Kyiv Ukraine, I have since returned to Australia with an eager desire to share my new-found dance knowledge, and to ensure the spirit of Ukrainian dance in this country continues to flourish.

I was quick to disregard my overwhelming tiredness, as I arrived in Kyiv on July 13 with a desperate sense of curiosity to discover what was to lie ahead over the next 14 days. Being one of only two Australians attending the workshop, I was relieved to be warmly welcomed to Kyiv by a troop of Canadians- belonging to the ensemble "Dovbush", from Vancouver. In no time at all, I felt right at home, surrounded by a lovely group of people, who like me, were intending to develop their dance technique, and similarly, shared my enthusiasm for Ukrainian dance.

Class began at 10am sharp at the National University of Arts and Culture, conveniently located near our apartment building. The group was extended with the appearance of five local Ukrainian dancers, pushing the total number of dancers up to 30. It was a full house. The pressure was on. A day at the studio consisted of three segments; starting with ballet barre and centre work. This was followed by a 'technika" class, where dancers learnt complicated rhythms, tricks and turning combinations. The final class consisted of traditional choreography, where students were taught to dance with their heart and soul in an effort to bring out true Ukrainian character. Much to my surprise, I was one of the few who could speak Ukrainian, consequently, i was assigned the role of "interpreter" translating the words of our mentors to the fellow dancers, and the head negotiator when dealing with taxis and shop-keepers. The ability to speak Ukrainian added to my fantastic time in Kyiv, I felt like a true local!

Day after day, despite our feet being left in a state of agony, the dancers were thrilled to have the offer to part-take in excursions around the city of Kyiv. A trip to the Pecherska Lavra and a boat ride down the Dniper river, were just two unforgettable experiences, not to mention travelling to Lviv on the weekend as a surprise treat.

Night after night we found ourselves in the company of highly notable dancers and composers, singing traditional Ukrainian songs, which I was so fortunate enough to have already learnt here in Australia, thanks to attending Ukrainian school and PLAST whilst growing up, making it entirely worth it! The Ukrainians were surprised and astounded at my strong connection to Ukrainian culture back home.

Sadly, it wasn't too long before the two weeks were coming to a close. The improvement amongst us was remarkable! It was incredible to see how far each and every dancer had come, we now looked like professionals. The two weeks were concluded with a final "examination" performance; a showcase of newly acquired repertoire and technique. It had been an emotional journey, and to top it off, I would be celebrating the end of the workshop on my 20th birthday. With great pleasure, I'd like to the thank VESELKA Ukrainian Dance Ensemble of Sydney, PLAST Sydney, Karpaty Foundation and the Ukrainian Studies Foundation in Australia for their generous sponsorships; without their contributions, my trip to the Virsky Summer Dance School would not have been possible. I would also like to thank Slawko Iwanec for organising the finer details, in ensuring my trip ran smoothly.

My trip to Kyiv 2013 has certainly influenced my life. It was such an honour to dance in the presence of Ukraine's finest mentors of the P. Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble . The experience allowed me to connect to my Ukrainian heritage and appreciate the true genius behind Ukrainian folk dance; inspiring me to keep the Ukrainian culture and spirit alive in Australia.

On Wednesday 28th August, Lisovi Chorty in Victoria (Gorgany) celebrated the kurin's 91st anniversary at The Crimean restaurant in North Melbourne. Good food and good company resulted in an enjoyable night for all that attended. Thanks to st pl Ross Osidacz for organising.

В середу 28 серпня відсвяткували Лісові Чорти - Ґорґани (Вікторія) 91-ліття куреня в ресторані "Кримському" у Норт Мельбурні. Смачна їжа і гарна компанія допомогли всім приємно провести час. Дякуємо ст. пл. Ростикові Осідачу за організацію вечора.

Sviato Pokrovy will be held on Sunday 27th October, 2013 at Lane Cove National Park.
Casuarina Point, Site 30, has been booked and an exciting program is being planned for UPN and UPU. A delicious lunch will be provided by "Blyskavky". Information regarding this year's krajovi tabory will be presented and discussed.

On Saturday the 14th of September, novachky Natasha Popovych, Nadia Sapun and Ola Sapun tried out their stunt-kite skills during a прогулка to South Bank.

The novachky - and their vyhovnyky - successfully didn't take out any seagulls or many pink bunny statues with rogue dive-bombing kites. After a picnic lunch and games, we read poshta from Ukraine and chose postcards for their new 'pen-[po]druhy' in Novoyavorivsk.

With iceblocks and spiv, they headed back to the domivka for their final zbirka and molytva before the school holidays.
