Setting an example of true Plast Spirit in Australia, pl.sen.Teresa Lachowicz and her amazing team of volunteers have sourced, coordinated and dispatched to Ukraine further pallets humanitarian and medical aid prior to winter.
After weeks of sorting, packing and itemising at Rotary Donations in Kind West Footscray,  35 pallets of aid – approximately 12 tonnes, according to the truck driver – left for the Amberley Airforce Base in Queensland, from where Defence Australia will transport supplies to Ukraine.  Including 7 pallets of jackets and beanies. And 100,000 meal kits, each feeding 5 people, were donated by Dr Doug Hawley from ForaMeal. Rebel Sport donated hundreds of adult puffer jackets.
Last week the ADF picked up 26 pallets of fire/rescue equipment from NSW, donated by the Fire Department.
pl.sen.Teresa Lachowicz  thanks everyone, in particular the many plastuny in the Group and also who answered the call to assist with sorting and packing, who volunteered their time to assist the International Coordination of Medical Aid to Ukraine – as every little bit helps us help our fellow Ukrainians. Especially the wonderful people at Rotary Footscray and Canterbury – For a MEAL‘s Dr Doug Hawley and Val Cunniffe for their super contribution of dehydrated meals.
