Today, our community gathered to honour and farewell Most Rev Peter Stasiuk CSsR AM, Eparch Emeritus of Saints Peter and Paul of Melbourne. In a moving funeral service, family, friends, clergy, and the wider faithful came together in prayer, giving thanks for his life of service and dedication to the Church and to the Ukrainian community in Australia.
Among those present were members of Plast Victoria and Plast Australia (KPS), representing the generations of plastuny whom Vladyka Peter supported and encouraged throughout his ministry. Their presence, alongside family and community, was a fitting tribute to a shepherd who valued the formation of young people in faith, culture, and leadership.
In this moment of loss, we also recognised the profound legacy that Vladyka Peter leaves behind — a legacy of faith, community spirit, and steadfast commitment to the people he served.
Vichna Yomu Pamiat’!
