From 14-16 February 2025, Plast Australia hosted an inspiring and productive leadership training course (KB-II), bringing together members from across the country to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and commitment to the organisation. Watching our youth embrace leadership roles was incredibly rewarding, reinforcing the importance of mentorship and structured development in shaping the next generation of Plast leaders.
Held near Melbourne, the training covered key aspects of governance, policy and procedures, leadership, and program development. Participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to enhance their ability to guide and support novatstvo and yunatstvo effectively.
One of the most exciting milestones celebrated during the weekend was the expansion of Plast’s reach. After successfully launching Plast in Perth two years ago, we are now thrilled to begin our program in Hobart, Tasmania, led by the dedicated and passionate Tania Tkachuk. This expansion marks another significant step in growing our Plast community and ensuring that Ukrainian scouting continues to flourish in Australia.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible organising team—Ivanka Buczma, Damian Pavlyshyn, and Tomas Miljenovic—who ensured a seamless and enriching experience for all attendees.
A special thank you to our generous sponsors, including the Karpaty Foundation for providing travel assistance to participants from Perth, Hobart, Brisbane, and Sydney, Dnister for supporting the printing of UPN training materials, and Blue Bay Cheese for their contributions. Your support enables us to continue fostering strong, well-equipped leaders for Plast Australia.
The weekend was a testament to the dedication and passion of our members, all working towards a shared goal: building a strong, vibrant, and united Plast in Australia. The energy, enthusiasm, and commitment displayed by our participants reaffirm the bright future of our organisation.
We look forward to seeing the positive impact of this training across our branches and the continued growth of Plast in Australia. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event such a success!
