It was a great honour for members of Plast and the wider Ukrainian community to be invited to the Lord Mayor’s Afternoon Tea at the historic Sydney Town Hall — a special event acknowledging the contributions of Ukrainian Australians.
The afternoon featured heartfelt speeches from Lord Mayor Clover Moore, His Excellency Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine, and Andrew Mencinsky, President of the Ukrainian Council of NSW. Each speaker paid tribute to the strength, resilience and unity of the Ukrainian community during a time of ongoing hardship and global attention.
We were especially proud to see so many Plast members recognised at the event — individuals who live out Plast values in everything they do. These are leaders and changemakers who contribute tirelessly to their community: through charity work, fundraising, organising rallies, providing medical and mental health support, and above all, keeping Ukrainian heritage and culture alive for the next generation.
