Members of Plast Victoria had the great honour of bringing the Bethlehem Peace Light to the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Melbourne, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Sviatoslav. This meaningful occasion marked the conclusion of the visit of His Beatitude and the Permanent Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) to Melbourne and Australia.
At the same time, Plast members from Plast New South Wales continued this tradition in Sydney, passing the Bethlehem Peace Light to Bishop Borys Gudziak and the parish community of St Andrew’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lidcombe.
The Bethlehem Peace Light is a symbolic flame that has been travelling around the world for nearly 40 years, carrying a message of light, goodwill, and unity. Through these moments in Melbourne and Sydney, Plast members once again reaffirmed their commitment to sharing hope and strengthening community bonds across Australia.
