Visnyk Autumn 2025

Visnyk Autumn 2025

Welcome to the Autumn 2025 Edition of the Plast Australia E-Visnyk!

As the leaves begin to change and the crisp autumn air sets in, we take this opportunity to reflect on the vibrant start to the year for Plast in Australia. This edition of the E-Visnyk captures the energy, dedication, and achievements of our community over the past months. From national celebrations to international visits, leadership training to summer camps, Plastuny across the country have demonstrated their unwavering commitment to scouting, service, and the Ukrainian spirit.

A highlight of the season was the historic visit of Myron Spolsky, Head of Plast Worldwide, and Olenka Bondar from the Holovna Plastova Bulava. Their time in Australia marked a significant milestone, reinforcing our strong connections with Plast globally and celebrating 75 years of Plast in Australia. Their insights and engagement have left a lasting impact on our community, inspiring future growth and collaboration.

This edition also brings exciting reflections from our summer camps, including Tabir Khodom Rush in Victoria and Velyka Hra (The Big Game) in New South Wales. These camps provided young Plastuny with unforgettable adventures, from medieval quests and high-adrenaline challenges to leadership development and team-building activities. The stories within these pages capture the camaraderie, resilience, and passion that make Plast camps an essential part of our journey.

With a focus on leadership within Plast Australia, acknowledging that without educators and program facilitators and after a hiatus of 14 years, KBII was held. An extraordinary participation level from across Australia reflected that Plast Australia continues to grow and mentor youth, reflecting the camp name and motto – V tini nezabutnikh predkiv – In the shadow of unforgettable ancestors!

Beyond campgrounds and leadership halls, Plastuny have continued to show their dedication to service and remembrance. On February 15, Brisbane Plastuny gathered for an Apel‘ ceremony, while Plast members nationwide marked the solemn third anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, honouring those who have fallen in defence of their homeland. These moments of reflection remind us of the deeper purpose of our movement—to stand united in support of Ukraine and to instill the values of resilience and patriotism in future generations.

As we look ahead, we celebrate the growth of our organisation, with leadership training strengthening our future and new initiatives expanding Plast’s presence in Tasmania. The Plast Australia Executive and Board also came together for a Planning Day, setting a clear direction for the years ahead. Additionally, we were honoured to welcome Ukrainian World Congress President Paul Grod to the Plast Museum in Adelaide, where he recognised the contributions of Plastuny in Australia to the global Ukrainian community.

With so many achievements already in 2025, we step into the rest of the year with enthusiasm, knowing that together, we continue to build a strong and enduring Plast in Australia. Thank you to all our members, leaders, parents, and supporters who make our work possible.

SKOB!
