Visnyk Autumn 2026

Welcome to the Autumn 2026 edition of the Plast Australia E-Visnyk.

As we move into autumn, we look back with gratitude on a full and meaningful start to the year across Plast Australia. This edition brings together stories that reflect the life of our community — the energy of our branches, the joy of time spent together, the strength of our traditions, and the care and commitment of the many people who help Plast thrive across Australia.

Over the summer months, our young members shared in wonderful experiences that will stay with them for years to come. From Victoria’s “Подорож по Загублених Світах” (Journey Through Lost Worlds) tabir to New South Wales’ “Річка Вільного Серця” (River of a Free Heart), camps were filled with adventure, friendship, learning, and fun. These moments are such an important part of the Plast journey, helping young people grow in confidence, resilience, and connection with one another.

It has also been heartening to see growth in our communities. In New South Wales, the launch of a new Ptashata group marks a joyful step in welcoming and nurturing our youngest Plastuny, helping to carry Plast forward into the future. In Tasmania, the official opening of the Plast year and participation in international initiatives such as the worldwide Christmas letter exchange show the enthusiasm and growing strength of our emerging branches.

Service, remembrance, and cultural connection continue to be an important part of Plast life. Across Australia, Plastuny came together to share the Bethlehem Peace Light, honour the legacy of Taras Shevchenko, and mark four years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. These occasions remind us of the importance of remembering, standing together, and staying connected to Ukraine and to one another, wherever we may be.

Our involvement in the wider Ukrainian community also continues to grow. Participation in major events such as UkiFest Sydney 2026, along with ongoing educational, cultural, and museum initiatives, reflects the valued role Plast Australia plays within community life. These are important opportunities to celebrate our heritage, share our values, and strengthen ties across generations.

Alongside all of this local activity, Plast Australia has also remained connected to the wider global Plast family. Representatives of Plast Australia met with Plast Ukraine and global leadership in Lviv, reinforcing our shared vision and the important role Plast Australia continues to play within the worldwide Plast movement. These connections are a reminder that the work of our branches and members here in Australia forms part of a much larger shared story.

We were also deeply honoured to receive recognition from Plast Ukraine, acknowledging the contribution of Plast Australia to the global movement. This recognition belongs to our whole community and reflects the dedication of leaders, volunteers, families, and members across the country who continue to give so generously of their time, effort, and heart.

As we reflect on all that has already taken place this year, we are reminded that Plast is built not only through camps and events, but through everyday acts of care, service, leadership, and community. The stories in this edition speak to the warmth, strength, and future of Plast in Australia.

As we enter this Easter season, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all members of our community:

Христос Воскрес! Воістину Воскрес!

May this season bring hope, peace, strength, and unity to you and your families.

Thank you to all our members, leaders, volunteers, and families who continue to make this work possible.
