Visnyk Winter 2025
Welcome to the Winter 2025 Edition of the Plast Australia E-Visnyk!
As winter settles across Australia, the Plast community continues to burn bright with energy, unity, and purpose. This edition of the Visnyk brings together stories from across the country that highlight the strength and spirit of our members—from meaningful commemorations to inspiring new beginnings.
One of the most exciting developments this season has been the official launch of a new Plast group in Tasmania—a powerful sign of our movement’s growth and resilience. With a moving apel’, the presentation of scarves, and activities honouring the spirit of St. George, the Tasmanian Plastuny have already shown they are full of heart and potential. Welcome to the Plast family—we’re so proud to have you on board!
Meanwhile, from coast to coast, Plastuny have been making their mark:
- In Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia, Plastuny young and old, as well as their four-legged companions, joined the first-ever Chestnut Run in Australia, uniting with Ukrainians around the world on Kyiv Day.
- In NSW, a new yunatskyi kurin’ was founded, the Winter Market brought community and generosity together to raise over $17,800 for the Hospitallers Medical Battalion and yunatstvo tackled a winter mini-camp as the Mountain Goats hurtok.
- Victoria’s yunatstvo took to the trails of the Mornington Peninsula, the stanytsia celebrated Sv Yuria with a great turnout and recognised some community members for long-standing efforts
- Queensland Plastuny reflected deeply on the meaning of Heroism for Heroes’ Day, creating wreaths of remembrance.
- In Western Australia, pysanky were painted and the legacy of St. George celebrated with tradition and joy.
From honouring our heroes to welcoming new faces, it is clear: Plast in Australia is thriving. We are proud of every Plastun who gives their time, energy, and heart to our movement—and this issue of the Visnyk is a celebration of just that.
