On 22 February 2026, Plast members in Western Australia proudly took part in a commemorative event marking four years since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
For Plast, this was not simply participation in a community gathering—it was a duty of honour.
During the ceremony, Plast youth members Andriy Yezhor, Illia Olevych, and Mykhailo Horodetskyi solemnly raised the Ukrainian, Australian, and New Zealand flags. As the national anthems of Ukraine and Australia were performed, Plast members stood in respectful formation, paying tribute to the nations that shape both their heritage and their present lives.
At a time when Ukraine continues its fight for freedom, the Plast community reflects on the profound sacrifices made by its members. Many Plastuny have taken up arms in defence of their homeland—and, tragically, many have given their lives. They remained faithful to the Plast Oath until the very end. Their sacrifice stands as the highest expression of living by Plast principles:
⚜️ to be faithful to God and Ukraine
⚜️ to help others
⚜️ to live by the Plast Law
Though far from their homeland, Plast members in Australia continue to serve Ukraine in meaningful ways: through youth education, through preserving memory, and through active civic engagement.
Plast is more than a uniform or ceremony.
Plast is character.
Plast is responsibility.
Plast is the struggle until victory.
We remember the fallen.
We support the living.
We raise the strong.
СКОБ!
